A stingy brim hat has a smaller, narrower brim, usually less than 2 inches wide. Porkpie hats have a stingy brim, but not all stingy brims are made in the porkpie style. Most of the time, the brim can be slanted down in the front or worn turned up all around (mimicking a porkpie). This style of hat will often have a shorter crown height, giving the hat a slimmer and more modern look than a classic fedora. Frank Sinatra and his crew often sported this style of hat in the 1960s.
