The classic fedora usually has a brim width of 2 inches or wider. Usually a fedora is considered a Mens dress hat, however, this is not the case today. Usually wool hats are fedoras, and are accented with a cloth or ribbon hat band around the base of the crown, and there may be a feather, pin or bow accent. The top crown of a classic fedora is usually an oval crease with indents on the front side.
Classic Fedoras offer protection from the elements while still being dressier than outback hat or western hat.
